goings on

My house looks like Party City threw up in it.

There is stuff everywhere. It's sort of ridiculous.

I've been working on a slideshow for the party for weeks now. The other day? I clicked a button and it's now gone. I kid you not. It's out there in the wild blue yonder of Internetland. That's my chore for tomorrow.

Hope it doesn't take more than thirty minutes though because I currently have a little girl on a nap strike living in my house. We've been battling bad screamies and tears at bedtime and naptime for days. My sanity, is hanging by a thin thread. A very thin thread.

This morning BG woke up at the crack of dawn. This was after keeping me up til 2 and waking me up sometime after three. It was still dark out. So I climbed out of bed, walked into the kitchen and did my morning ritual. I touched the coffee pot to see if it was warm (meaning hubs made coffee) and since it was. I poured myself a cup and took a big sip...

Of vinegar water from hubs cleaning the pot.

I was furious. Not only had I had no sleep, but now there was no coffee?!? And... I didn't do the dishes last night (sue me) so the sink was so full I couldn't wash the pot and I couldn't. have. coffee.

I ran the dishwasher with just my coffee pot in there. Don't tell hubs.

Actually tell him. I don't care. He made me drink vinegar water.

BG started blowing kisses on Saturday. It is the cutest thing I've ever seen. Then she switched to using the back of her hand to blow them. That might actually be the cutest thing ever.

She's also a dancer. She's been doing it for a while now, but she's really gotten into it this past month. She has this little carry along Baby Einstein "walkman" that she stops, presses, and dances to all day. She's funny. Although it looks like she got Mama's dance skills. Poor soul.

I mentioned on Twitter (and maybe on here, I can't remember) that our camera broke the other day. Yes, right before her birthday (the nerve!). Well tonight, my hubby came home with this little ditty. The man is a saint. Miraculously he is now forgiven for the coffee incident.

My head is all over the place. This no sleep is making me feel all Girl, Interrupted.

and then there were....

Or three?

Or will it stay at one?

One of the questions that I LOATHED before BG came along was "when are you guys going to have kids?". I feel like if you're married for more than, oh, half a second, you're going to start getting that question. It was a knife in my heart when someone asked at a New Year party one year that very question, two days after I had had a D & C.

Knife in chest.

I didn't feel like I would hate any question more than that.

But I do.

Once BG got to about six months old, I started getting the "have you guys thought about when you'll have another one?" question.

Good times.

Now I don't mind discussing this with my friends. Or with you guys. Or with my family.

But.. the old lady behind me in TJ Maxx???

How do you answer "well it took us years to get her and we lost four babies and I'm terrified of not being able to get pregnant again and if I do get pregnant, I don't know if I can handle another loss and we don't live in the same town as my RE anymore and I'm just plain scared..." to that lady??

I always wanted a big family. I wanted at least four children.

Crazy talk.

Of course that was before, back when I thought having babies was easy. And that statement has nothing to do with raising them. Now? I am really, really good with one.

I feel so, so blessed to have her. And if she's the only one we ever have, well, that's fine. She's already more than I deserve.

However, we are not completely closed off to having more. Just not now. We aren't there yet.

Maybe we won't ever get there. I don't know. Somehow I doubt that because I already miss the newborn stage something fierce (well the non crying part), but we shall see.

I fully expect to get that question more and more as BG gets ready to turn one. For now, I'll stick with my standard laugh and "I'm good right now". Because..

I'm good right now.

project 365: week 12

Sunday, March 20th:

BG and I spent about 2 hours at the car place getting tires put on Mr. P's truck on Sunday. I let her down for about two seconds and she came up with black hands. I spent the rest of the time trying to entertain her in my lap. Thank goodness for smart phones. What did parents do before aps and internet on the go?!?

Monday, March 21st:

We took BG to a local studio to get a few birthday pictures taken. Of course she wanted to get up and walk everywhere, so we let her. She wasn't a huge fan of the cold tile on her cold feet.

Tuesday, March 22nd:

Watching Bethenney with Mom. Nothing like a little educational tv....

Wednesday, March 23rd:

Hanging out at the park.

Thursday, March 24th:
Yay! A two picture day!

Mr. P left his hat in BG's room the other night and while her and I were playing the other am, I turned around and saw this. She had put it on herself and kept playing with it. Think she missed her Daddy?!

Not sure if we bought her a chair for her birthday? or a jungle gym?

Friday, March 25th:

BG and I headed into town to meet up with Anne and Erin and their boys at the park for a few hours. Erin and I had met before, but this was my first time meeting Anne and I loved it. She's so easy to talk to and I can't wait for another lunch date soon! Their boys are precious and have stolen my heart. I think BG is kind of head over heels for them too.

Saturday, March 26th:

This little girl? Is 51 weeks old. You know what that means right!?!

It's Birthday Week!!!!!!

Saturday Morning Scene

Saturday Morning Scene

I'm linking up with Kate for her Saturday Morning Scene again today. It's been a super quiet morning here. BG slept til almost 10 (thank you Hudson and Mac for tiring her out at the park yesterday!), Mr. P slept til 11:30, and it's raining. Pretty much our morning has consisted of breakfast and now me drinking coffee while she watches some Sesame Street.

Pretty sure this is as productive as we're getting this morning...

And could someone come teach this child how to properly sit in her chair??

What's been going on in my head???

First of all, how did my font on here change? Odd.

I'm trying to put together a slideshow for BG's first birthday. It will be the death of me. Between the incessant sobbing as I put up pictures of my long ago newborn, or the tears over the songs I've picked, and the fact that it just doesn't want to all "jive" for me? I could possibly lose it. If anyone has any clue how to use Windows Movie Maker, please hit me up. I will seriously love you forever (in a non-stalker way of course).

I got BG's birthday outfits washed. She has a different outfit for each day of her birthday week. Yes, I know that's utterly ridiculous, but. I. Can't. Help. It. I need a support group.

I am getting to the overwhelmed part of the party planning. I need to be able to put things out and see how they look, but the party won't be here so I can't set up and it's killing me. I need to see it to see what needs to be done!!

I took the plunge and joined Weight Watchers (Sara quit laughing). So far the only thing I've noticed is that I'm starving. Not kidding. I eat a ton of fruit though because you can. Not so satisfying that fruit..

I just noticed that I'm blogging in the compose section and that I can do all kinds of neat things. Hmm.. How have I never noticed that??

My girl dog peed on my boy dog's head today. I don't know why they want me to get rid of them. And if they don't, why are they pulling every trick in the book to get me to do so?!

In the last couple of weeks, BG has started turning the pages of her book for me. At night, I'll get the page ready to turn in our book and she turns it the rest of the way. It is pretty darn cute. And makes her seem even more grown. Stop. It.

At night, I like to sneak in her room and pick her up and hold her. She rarely lets me hold her during the day, so I love that time. Then last night she wouldn't go back to sleep after I set her back down. Do I dare go in there tonight?

The other night, I was bathing the kiddo when she stood up, squatted, peed, and then burst out laughing. Am I raising a little lady or a frat boy?? She did the same thing to her Dad tonight. I don't get it.

My camera broke. The week before BG's party. Super fun right? I'm a mess. She did so many adorable things today and all I had for documentation was the Droid. Thank goodness for grainy cell phone pictures. That's not going to cut it next week though...

I'm really tired. Maybe I'll be able to sleep tonight?

wordless wednesday: early birthday gift

I think she likes it. Of course, she thinks it's her own personal jungle gym and not just a chair....

Tuesday, March 22, 2011

you tell me..

I hear, oh, daily, how my husband got a "twin" with BG.

Seriously, daily.

So I thought I'd let y'all be the judge... Are they right?

Mama and BG

Daddy and BG

I guess I can always hope the next one might look a bit like me?!?

At least he makes a pretty girl ;)

St. Patrick's Day

Not going to lie, I love St. Patrick's Day.

I mean, I pretty much like all holidays, but a holiday where it's acceptable to dress in green (love), watch parades, and start drinking at 8 am?

I'm there.

I also happen to be from a town with a HUGE celebration for St. Patty's. We're talking a week long celebration of pretty much straight debauchery with a parade thrown in.

It's a blast.

However, being a bit older and a tad more mature, I skipped the debauchery this year in lieu of introducing BG to her first St. Patty's Day Parade.

I am so, so thankful that I have an amazing husband who works hard so that I'm able to take these trips with her. We were so bummed he couldn't make it, but am so glad that we were able to go home for this. Love you babe..

We got up bright and early (after going to bed at 4:30 am which you've already heard me complain about in depth a bit if you follow me on Twitter) and headed to meet up with KP and Kathryn. KP's friend from college was also in town with her little one so they went with us to meet up with KP's husband, R, and his family downtown.

We left the house at around 8 am and after looking for a parking space for 45 minutes, we finally were making our way through the crowd to our parade spot on Bay Street.

The parade didn't start until 10:15 and took about 45 minutes or so to reach us. That was fine by us though. We had food, drinks, Frisbees, face painting, and adorable babies to keep us entertained. R's family is such a blast and we had a prime spot to people watch in and wait for the parade.

KP and I with our girls

Eventually the parade made it to our end of town so we made our way to the street to take in the sights.

KP's friend, N, and BG

Eventually my child (the one that went to sleep at 4:30 am, got up at 6:30 am, and skipped her morning nap), decided to conk out in the BOB. It wasn't too much longer before Kathryn joined her...

Once the little ones were asleep, we older gals pulled up a few chairs for some laughs, some face painting, and lots of girl talk. Not going to lie, I was pretty homesick by this point. I miss my friends..

Sigh.. perfect afternoon.

Eventually, it was almost 4:00 and we decided to clear out before the madness began. We trekked back to our cars but decided we weren't quite done with the festivities yet so we headed on back to KP's.

Eventually I had to tear myself away to go meet up with family for dinner. It was such a perfect day. I'm so, so glad that I got to introduce BG to one of my favorite things about Savannah.

Is it time to go back yet?!?!

project 365: week 11

So I took two days off blogging and feel like I'm so out of the loop with all of y'all. Guess I'll be spending tomorrow catching up. Hope all is well!!

Sunday, March 13th:

BG and I taking BOB out for his first run at the park. We are in love. BG was also pretty stoked for her first pair of shorts for the summer. Yay for letting the thighs breathe!!

Monday, March 14th:

Another item checked off the party planning list...

Tuesday, March 15th:

BG has gotten to the point where holding her and cuddling her is basically non-existent. Except for in the middle of the night. I have been known to sneak into her room, pick her up, and just hold her for awhile. I can't help it. I just sit there and soak up the last bits of "baby" there seem to be.

I then found out I'm not the only one doing that... ahem, Mr. P. We apparently can't help ourselves.

Wednesday, March 16th:

BG was rocking a super sweet pair of jorts to go with this little "Lucky Charm" onesie her sitter got her a while ago. So since she looked all cute and stuff, I tried to get her picture with her Daddy. Too bad someone wasn't having it. Oh well.

Thursday, March 17th:

BG's first St. Patrick's Day!! We headed down to Savannah for the weekend to hit up the big parade and had a blast!! Post coming later but let's just soak up this adorableness for now k?

Friday, March 18th:

Those legs? I die. Love them. And that's totally a birthday gift she's climbing all over. Yay for no memory huh?!

Saturday, March 19th:

"Walking" with her Aunt and Great-Grandad. How cute is that little toosh in her bubble?!? I'm beyond excited for summer clothes. Too bad we left Savannah and came back to 60 degree weather today. Fail.
