Valentine's Day

I'm going to let you in on a little secret.

As unromantic, cynical, and un-lovey dovey, as I tend to be, I pink puffy heart Valentine's Day.

Maybe it's because from a young day, my parents have made sure to make it a special day; with cards, chocolate, and maybe a little gift. Maybe it's because I got a special gift from a special little boy at a young age that made me feel cool beyond my years. Maybe it's because I'm a competitive freak that liked to see how many cards she could collect. Maybe it's because I like being the center of attention and loved it when in high school I was singled out each year with a rose.

Whatever. I like it.

I'm not into the huge romantic dinner, blowing your budget on jewelry thing, but I am a sucker for a card and some chocolate (just what these hips need...).

This year, Mr. Perfect worked all day, but I spent the day with my little lovebug making a craft for her Daddy, baking a cake, and just hanging out. Absolute perfection.

This year, my heart overflows with love for my family.

So to my Valentine's, Mr. Perfect, you are the light of my life. I've loved you since I first laid eyes on you, but had no idea it could continue to grow every day. You are the love of my life, my best friend, an amazing husband, and an incredible father. I love being with you every day and can't wait to grow old with you.

Baby Girl, you are the best thing that's ever happened to your Dad and I. Everyday you make us laugh and we are so proud of every little thing that you figure out. You've completed our family and we are so, so thankful that we were chosen to be your parents. We love you more than life little one..

And lastly.. to my first Valentines, my parents. I love you guys tons. Thanks for teaching me what it is to feel special. And making sure that I knew it was important to make others feel that way.

Hope you've all had a great day. Whether you spent it with spouses, significant others, children, parents, or good friends, I hope you felt all kinds of loved.

Happy Valentines day y'all.

Project 365: Week 6

Sunday, February 6th:

I loved this little outfit that BG had in pink, so I had to go get her the other color. She had it for one day before she bit a hole in the arm. Nice...

Monday, February 7th:

Precious. And yes, that's an 18 month tag peeking out of her bottoms. We're moving on up people..

Tuesday, February 8th:

I got the wild hair to attempt making cupcakes. They didn't look so pretty, but they were delicious. Now I want some more.

Wednesday, February 9th:

I attempted a photo shoot with the little, but she wasn't having it. I think this is seriously the best one I got.

Thursday, February 10th:

Oh you know.. just watching a little tv with Mom.

Friday, February 11th:

The littlest things make her laugh so hard. I love how when she laughs, her eyes disappear. Pure joy..

Saturday, February 12th:

45 weeks.

because i'm an insomniac..

Since apparently I don't sleep anymore, I've got nothing today.

BG on the other hand always has something to say. Today she's excited it's coming up on her first Valentine's Day and since that's the case, she's rocking the Valentine's Day gear.

She wanted a photo shoot to share her cheer!

Not sure where my babe that actually smiled at the camera went...

And from before she got dressed...

Why is it that a baby in two piece pajamas doesn't look like a little, tiny baby?!? Where is my newborn????

Enjoy your weekend y'all. Show some people the love.

*Preferably people you know ;)

wordless wednesday: "me and my best friend"

I hope you sang that title..

Another park day with my girl.

I swear she was happy. She's just practicing her emo look for the teenage years.

the little things.

I don't know how to begin this post.

Yesterday was another day that I could literally feel my sanity slipping away. Seriously I almost went looking for it in the parking lot. The little things were adding up and hitting me big time and knocking me down and out.

Then today?

Marvelous.

The little things today have made me smile, laugh, and thank God that this is my life.

Little things like baking cupcakes and having them turn out edible. Huge for me.

Then sharing one of those cupcakes with Mr. P, who put it all over my face and made us laugh for ten minutes.

Or watching my little one swing on the swings with the biggest smile on her face.

Or seeing her delight over something as simple as a little boy sliding down the slide.

The other day on Twitter, DD remarked about how she watched a women dragging her two year old hurriedly into the store as the little girl tried to take in all of the falling snow around her with wide eyes.

And it struck a chord in me.

The other night, BG and I pulled in from Wal-Mart and it started sprinkling. It pissed me off because I was parked pretty far away and was super mad about getting wet. It wasn't a downfall, just those annoying little droplets that make your face all misty.

As I pulled her out of the car and hurriedly slammed the door shut, I noticed something. I had my head ducked and was trying to duck hers, but she was fighting me with everything she had. So I let her head go and watched as my ten month old tilted her head back, opened her mouth, and smiled as the little drops hit her face.

See, to me it was an annoying downpour. To her? Her first time to experience that mist on her face.

It's the little things people.

It's curling up in bed with my cat at my feet. It's a good run. It's a delicious dinner that prepared for my little family. It's a cupcake with the hubs on his lunch break. It's watching a movie with my husband. It's splashing in the tub with the little.

It's life and it's going too fast.
