I'm seriously beginning to think that someone is sneaking into my house every night and pumping me full of sedatives. Sneaky little sucker. How are you getting past the dogs?
So sorry for the lack of blogging lately, but I am spent. I come home from work and collapse. I'm beginning to think the amount of medications I'm taking is definitely catching up with me. My poor husband is doing EVERYTHING around the house. What a good little housewife I have. =) I wonder how much longer this will keep up. I should probably stop going to bed at eight. I have no idea what's going on in my house.
In other news, I actually got up and went to church on Sunday, and what a good thing I did. The whole sermon was on worrying, something I know a lot about. Mr. Perfect actually leaned over at the beginning of the sermon and said "you should be paying attention to this!". Thanks bud. I got it. But it did reitterate my thoughts on how I should not be worrying about this stuff in my life, that it needs to all be given to Him. Still working on that...
Hope everything is going well with you ladies! I'm still reading y'alls blogs even if I don't have much to say right now!!

exhausted.
Our church is having revival this week and we have a youth choir in town for the event. The youth choir is actually from the church Mr. Perfect grew up in, so it's been fun having them, a few adults from the church, and his old pastor in town. There's well over 50 kids and they are all staying with members of our church. Mr. Perfect and I are keeping two 15 year old girls.
I am exhausted.
I swear I slept more when I was their age. We picked them up and they have been nonstop since Sunday night. In the car as they're steady jabbering away in the backseat, Mr. Perfect looks over and whispers to me "I am in Hell". Of course he was kidding and we're surviving quite nicely. Our girls are dolls and so much fun. Just exhausting.
So not much time to blog this week. Hope you're all having a great one!
Oh! What did everyone think of Jon & Kate last night? So sad. It's a shame really...

Standards
So I mentioned in a post a few weeks ago that our church is doing this amazing marriage study at the moment. I am loving it. One of the things that I think has caused Mr. Perfect and I so much trouble in our marriage is that we didn't really get good pre-marital counseling. We had some, but no where near what I would recommend to an engaged couple. We were pretty much left in the dark with so much so these sermons have been a definite wake up call in our marriage.
Our preacher spoke to us today on the roles of parents, husbands, and wives in a marriage. I'm not going to give you the whole sermon, because frankly I don't remember it all. Good memory- I do not have.
What stuck out to both Mr. Perfect and myself was the section on setting standards in our marriage. Our Sunday School teacher actually did an excellent job preaching on this. I set a lot of standards for myself and people I surround myself with daily. I expect a ton from my co-workers because I have such a high standard for what I produce. And I usually do just what I set out to do. I definitely got my parents hardworking gene. Thanks! Mr. Perfect is the same. He sets very high standards for his employees. I always joke that there is no way I could work for him because he expects so much! However, it gets him the respect he deserves as their boss.
Where we both lack is the same; we don't set standards for ourselves in our home.
Huh?
We're very chill at our house. It works for us right now, but what we got to thinking about was setting a standard for our family. Example: I have told him time and again that when we procreate (love that word) the TV is gone. I kid you not. We will not have a family television. Mr. Perfect used to just dismiss this as one of mymany passing fancies. But I'm serious. Have you seen what's on television today? I'm guilty of encouraging it by what I watch but come on. Saturday morning at work we were watching cartoons and a condom commercial came on. Are you kidding me?!? I don't want my children seeing that. My other thing with the tv is the materialism it breeds. I don't want my children "wanting" things that the tv shows them over and over and tells them they "need". I don't judge people that do allow their children tv time, it's just not what I think I want at this time. We will keep our small tv in our room for DVD's and such though.. I do need my FRIENDS!
I want my children to see Mr. Perfect and I set standards for relationships. I want them to see that he always opens my door for me and that we hug, and touch, and are affectionate. I want them to know that their parents love each other, therefore making it easier to love them. I want God first in our house. I want us in church when the doors are open. Our SS teacher said if you raise the standards so high, your children will more than likely set theirs just a bit below that. Well by golly, I'll set mine so high that their lower standards are still high!
We felt such a conviction on this today. We were disappointed in ourselves that we do set such high standards everywhere else but our home. That the second most important relationship we have in this world is the one we expect the least from. That's not how it's supposed to be. So we'll be setting up our standards for our family. I'm sure it's going to be a process but oh how worth it it will be. By the time God decides to bless us with our little one, I want the strongest foundation we can possibly have on which they will grow.
I love sermons like today when it's just what I needed to hear...

D-rained.
I just had the most pointless gym session ever. Since the beginning of time.
I lasted 10 minutes on the treadmill. 10 minutes!! You don't even sweat in 10 minutes.
Maybe it's because this guy wasn't there. No motivation.
I am so drained. I kid you not. I might be close to slipping into a coma. I would have more energy in that state!
I think I had too much fun this weekend. That might be it. We had our friend Jason's birthday and as always, good times were had. Pictures will follow as soon as I find my camera again.
Maybe it's with my cell phone.... Hmmm....
On another note: Our church is doing a HUGE marriage study this month. It's kind of like marriage counseling for the church as a whole and I am a fan. I like this idea a lot. Our Sunday school leader took it one step further. He issued our class a little challenge (I of course perked up because who doesn't love a challenge?!?). He is challenging all of us to do something ridiculously romantic for our spouses. To put time, energy, and heart into something that will knock their socks off. We have til the middle of May to think it up and actually do it. Then they'll have another couple pick the most romantic one.
Oh. I. Got. This.
I may or may not have mentioned that I am fiercely competitive. I kid you not. It's a sickness. Like I would never compete against me. It's bad.
I looked at Mr. Perfect the minute we got out of church, winked, and let him know with 100% certainty that he was "going down". (Seriously, a sickness). Healmost passed out laughing let out a little chuckle. I think his exact words were "You?!? You're the least romantic person I know!!"
Are you kidding me?!?
Ok. So maybe sappy movies usually don't get to me, and maybe I see flowers as something that will die very quickly and have to be disposed of (more than likely by me and they usually stink!), but least romantic person he knows!!!
You're a boy dude!! What about your friends?!?!
He has no idea what he's in store for. Like I said, I got this. .::wink, wink::.
