Have You Been Outside?!?!

I love this weather!! It's about 78 degrees here, sunny, with a breeze off the ocean!!

Ohmygosh!! I love my town!

I love spring!!

Such a good mood. This time of year does this to me. I've been able to drive to work with the windows down, the sunroof open, with my radio blaring. Good for the girl that leaves for work with her hair still soaking wet. True story.

I feel like spring is God's little gift to me for surviving winter. =) I know, I know. I don't even get a winter here in the Deep South, but it's cold to me!!

I had to go to work super early this morning and ended up staying late for an emergency. Stupid sock eating dogs. I kid. He was sweet but he kept me cooped up indoors til 1. After that I decided to go for a run outside.

Ok. I haven't blogged about this because I don't want to be held accountable. All honesty here baby. I've been working out like a mad man and I want to get back into running again. I have been a runner my whole life, but after hurting both knees a total of 6 times all together, it hasn't been very important to me. I played college soccer and was in kick butt shape all through college. However, that is no longer the case.

So as one of my New Years Resolutions, I joined a gym. And I'm still going. I don't diet (as I've stated time and time again!), but with this gym going I'm also having to figure out how to eat. I'm always hungry but I need to start eating better to get more energy. I signed up for my first race at the end of the month. It's actually sponsored by the animal shelter here in town so I'll get to run with my Lacy girl. It's a 5k (I almost typed only but then remembered how it kills me!). I've been running that in about 38 minutes on the treadmill. I can't believe I just typed that. All honesty.... That's without stopping. I'm actually proud of that. I try to switch up my workouts so I'm not on the treadmill everyday. Yay for my athletic training classes in college and for college sports teaching me how to work out!

So anyway. Today I ran outside. Wind in my face I did a mile and a half in 20 minutes. Still not great, but I've never ran that whole track here in my town without stopping. And I did today!! Yay! I'm super excited. I love how accomplished I feel when I'm done. And I love how it's changing my body already.

I'm sick of being out of shape. So wish me luck on my continuing endeavor!!

Hope you're all having a great weekend! The Marine is in town again so we're having a family dinner tonite. Always a good time!

Giveaway

I forgot to mention this little giveaway.

Head on over to one of my personal favorite
blogs and check out Mrs. Newlywed's giveaway. She's giving away a Preppy Princess tote that isn't even in stores yet. I mean, hows that for fashion forward?!? Check it out...

So Long Nebraska!!

I'm sad. My coworker (and friend), Nebraska, is moving. She moved down here to Hometown, USA for a job her husband took. However, as is far too common in our present day, her husband got laid off.

Boo.

Fortunately, he'd already been offered another job in good 'ol Alabama. He just hasn't heard a start date yet.

Poor girl and her family, which includes these 2 lovely children, have been packed up and ready to move for weeks now. Our boss was really understanding and knew she might have to leave at a moment's notice.

How's this for odd timing? In the middle of all this, Nebraska finds out she's pregnant. Oh girl.... But it's a blessing and her and her hubs are AMAZING parents, it just added to her stress at the moment.

So her and her fam are headed to Alabama tomorrow. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they try to settle into this new life. I'm going to miss my little coworker... =(

How Is This Fair?!?!?

No. That is not my yard.

It is however my BFF Ash's yard up in Athens, GA.

How is this fair?! My yard is still green brown!! If it's going to be this doggone cold, then at least give us the white stuff!!

My town hasn't had snow since 1989. I was 7. So many of my friends are having snow days and I'm steady working.. Oh the humanity!!

Not that I want one of those crazy snowstorms like the Carolinas and so many of you other bloggers are going through right now. I just want to make a snow angel. I've never made a snow angel!! =(

So I had a sneaky suspicion when I talked to my little brother the Marine on Friday, that he was most def up to something. I asked him if he was headed to Hometown, USA again, but he said no.

Funny. I could totally hear road noise in the background. I should be a P.I.

This showed up on his Facebook today. Him and the little new girl had a little weekend trip to Charleston!! Busted!!

Oh little ones, I am wise beyond your years. And I know all.

I think this is so cute. My little brother doesn't have the best track record with relationships. Usually they've already crashed and burned ended already. But I think he really likes this one.

I do too. So I won't go all big-sister on her like I've done to some in the past. (It's not me!! Some of them have been BAD!!)

He's trying to set up a time for her to meet the parents.. Oh please let me be there for that. =)

I told my boss about the Bachelor spoiler that Reality Steve posted. He doubted me.

He doesn't anymore! I didn't watch an episode of the Bachelor all year til last nite. I'm glad I didn't. What a not cool man. And could he have cried anymore?! I hope that Melissa girl doesn't stay too upset over him for long. Not worth it.

American Idol recap in T-minus 2 days!! Is it wrong I left work early today so that I would have time to go to the gym, go pick up pants for Mr. Perfect, get dinner, and still not miss a minute of American Idol?!?

Hey. This girl's got priorities!

D-rained.

I just had the most pointless gym session ever. Since the beginning of time.

I lasted 10 minutes on the treadmill. 10 minutes!! You don't even sweat in 10 minutes.

Maybe it's because this guy wasn't there. No motivation.

I am so drained. I kid you not. I might be close to slipping into a coma. I would have more energy in that state!

I think I had too much fun this weekend. That might be it. We had our friend Jason's birthday and as always, good times were had. Pictures will follow as soon as I find my camera again.

Maybe it's with my cell phone.... Hmmm....

On another note: Our church is doing a HUGE marriage study this month. It's kind of like marriage counseling for the church as a whole and I am a fan. I like this idea a lot. Our Sunday school leader took it one step further. He issued our class a little challenge (I of course perked up because who doesn't love a challenge?!?). He is challenging all of us to do something ridiculously romantic for our spouses. To put time, energy, and heart into something that will knock their socks off. We have til the middle of May to think it up and actually do it. Then they'll have another couple pick the most romantic one.

Oh. I. Got. This.

I may or may not have mentioned that I am fiercely competitive. I kid you not. It's a sickness. Like I would never compete against me. It's bad.

I looked at Mr. Perfect the minute we got out of church, winked, and let him know with 100% certainty that he was "going down". (Seriously, a sickness). He almost passed out laughing let out a little chuckle. I think his exact words were "You?!? You're the least romantic person I know!!"

Are you kidding me?!?

Ok. So maybe sappy movies usually don't get to me, and maybe I see flowers as something that will die very quickly and have to be disposed of (more than likely by me and they usually stink!), but least romantic person he knows!!!

You're a boy dude!! What about your friends?!?!

He has no idea what he's in store for. Like I said, I got this. .::wink, wink::.
