Bring it 2012

I usually fail miserably at New Year's Resolutions, but being it is a new year and all that jazz, here I am resolving to do better this year.

You can see 2010's and 2011's here.

1. This is the same as last year; I just want to continue to grow in my relationship with God. This goes hand in hand with getting involved more in our church. I want to be on fire in my faith again. I want to build a solid foundation in my faith so that BG has something to look to. This is by far my most important resolution.

2. Work on financial freedom. I want everything paid down and get us back on track with budgets and saving and all that jazz. Economy sucks. Money sucks. Budget needed. Enough said.

3. Get healthy. I lost most of the weight that I wanted to lose in 2011, but I now want to lose some more. And get back out on the pavement. I feel so much better when I'm running and being active. I've got to get back out there. I'm also not a big fast food eater anyway, but I want to cut it out for good. And diet soda. That might kill me. I just want to make better food and lifestyle decisions. BG is at the point where she watches you like a hawk and I want her to see me making good decisions. So I should probably start doing that...

4. Find a sitter here in town and go on date nights. I would love to say weekly date nights, but that will never happen with our schedule. So maybe twice a month? At least. Is that sad? That's about twice a month more than we're doing now so there's that.

5. Figure out what I want to do with my life (career wise) and make it happen. I'm making that decision this year. To be continued..

They aren't much but they're all things I need to work towards. I know it's a total cliche to make these resolutions, but I like the idea of a new year bringing a clean slate. So here we go 2012. Please be nicer than 2011 was.

I love these resolution because they are all things I can aspire to do. I have wrote some semi-resolutions similar to these.
And I agree; sooo happy 2011 is over and ready for the positive changes and blessings in 2012. Hope this is the best year for us yet!!!

I found myself nodding in agreement with many of these, particularly the date night one and getting healthy(ier). I think having a kid is one of the best motivations for being fit and making good choices that there is. And I had to laugh about the "2 date nights a month" thing, because that is exactly what I was thinking! I'd love to do more than that, but I don't think it's possible with our schedules right now. Oh well - here's to resolutions!

Best wishes with your goals! I agree with Megan, it is so hard to get out of the house (and expensive)-have some date nights at home!
