Messy Mom Monday

Two bloggers whom I enjoy reading are hosting a different kind of link up today. When I saw Jess' and Brittany's posts today, I was all over it. I actually scrapped the "plan" for today and decided to hop on their train of thought.

A post where I can admit that my house is usually not perfect and that it's noon and I haven't showered yet? So right up my alley.

I think we're all guilty of sometimes pretending we have it more together than we really do. I'll admit; I'm not posting pictures of my Christmas decor or a new arrangement in the living room without throwing crap in the closet straightening up first. I like to pretend that my house isn't messy more than it's not.

I admit most of the time I don't feel like I have it together. Currently? this is my living room. Even I'm not sure what most of that junk is. I'd like to blame this all on the fact that I haven't been home in what seems like weeks, but truth be told it looks like this more often than not. I'm just bad at picking up and during the week, we all come and go like hurricanes so when we're home, we like to relax.

I sent the little one to her school for a while today so that I could tackle my ever growing to-do list. See that list? Nothing is crossed off. I took that picture at noon. Fail.

I still haven't showered. I'm rocking two day unwashed hair, a three sizes too large sweatshirt and glasses. I'm a hot mess today.

Apparently the bar is where all things currently come to die. It will be days before I deal with this. I've actually managed to clean up the living room by this time, but this mess? still hanging out.

The playroom currently looks like ToysRUs threw up in it. But that's normal. And this is actually way better than normal. I'll take this.

The poor kitchen becomes a catch all way too often. There are toys everywhere and boxes. From when we moved. Nine months ago. Still want to be friends?

I'm awful at cleaning the kitchen. I kind of hate it. I will leave dishes overnight more often than I should. And loads of laundry have the tendency to be washed three times before I finally move them to the dryer. And take days to get in closets. Oops.

There's my truth. Sometimes my house is scary. Most of the time I'm scary. But I'm surviving. I'll call that a win in Motherhood.

It so nice and refreshing to know that my house isn't the only one that wouldn't pass a white glove test on a daily basis!

Most days I'm lucky to see our kitchen table underneath all the junk!

Motherhood success=survival? GENIUS! I love it! And that chest in your toy room? I love! Off topic and so not the point, but I just love it:)

I keep saying it on everyone's posts, but, thank God I'm not the only one who has a kitchen counter dumping grounds:)

I did this, too - so fun! I'm scrolling through checking out all the other messy mommas :-) It's good to know that I'm not the only one who has a messy house!

Oh, clothes. Clothes everywhere, in every person who linked up. I think we all need laundry fairies. Life isn't always perfect, so why pretend? Right?

Thanks so much for linking up!

Thanks for keeping it real. I'm not sure I would have the confidence to do that. I mean, the dog hair alone would embarrass me!

You are doing darn good my friend. You've got your plate full and your house looks better than mine! Good work. Thanks for being real and sharing.

AH! We have that same couch set - well, almost - the feet are different and mine isn't as plump - it pretty squashed after 8yrs! LOL

Your house looks real and lived in! :)

We moved in 2.5yrs ago - and I still have a storage room of boxes of pictures to put up on walls.
