Huh?

Exactly. I just got about two hours of medical speech and my brain is FRIED. I went in for just another check up today, but Dr. O had gotten back some results for us so we went through all that. Mr. Perfect didn't go because we thought it was just a check up so I made sure to take plenty of notes so I could somewhat explain what I found out.

First of all, I got the results back from my clotting issues test I just recently did. It came back normal. I'm negative for protein abnormalities, Factor V and Factor II. There's also one more that came back negative but I for the life of me cannot remember what it was. But I do know this is all the result that we wanted. So yay! I never thought I'd be so happy to hear a negative result in my life!

We also got our perinatal pathology review back. This is where they send off the remains of a D & C and try to figure out what happened to end the pregnancy. Dr. O went all the way back to the beginning of this with our case and sent off all 4 specimens. With our first pregnancy, we found out that it was actually a molar pregnancy. I plan on reading up on this a bit more, but from what I understand, basically my egg let 2 of Mr. Perfect's sperm in. So he contributed all of the makeup of the embryo. I contributed none. This makes it a genetic abnormality and it cannot survive. Our next 3 pregnancies all appear genetically normal. If you've been reading for a while, then you know I have what our doctor believes to be a severe blood flow problem. Based on our pathology results, it appears that he is correct. Basically, the blood vessels in the uterine wall are abnormal. They always are. It's why I have horrible menstrual cycles and sometimes pain during intercourse (TMI much?!). These blood vessels are responsible for blood flow to the placenta during pregnancy and since they are abnormal, they're just not cutting it. Plan of action? To start another drug that will hopefully straighten out these vessels and get them to cooperate during pregnancy. Sound like I'm speaking Hebrew? Don't worry.. I thought so to!

Our next course of action is still to do the complete chromosomal workup for both of us. We're actually battling with the insurance company right now over this so as soon as we can get it approved, we'll go for it. Today they are having me start to track my temperatures so they can see what my body does during ovulation. I actually owe a huge thank you to Mrs. Newlywed here! Dr. O started talking about tracking your temps and a few months ago I would have sat there like a bump on a log.. But not today! Thanks to my obsessive reading of blogs, I had already heard of this from Mrs. Newlywed and had started it already. So look at me being a step ahead of the Doc! Once I track my temps for 3 cycles, we'll be ready to do the surgery to remove my septum. Oh, and we no longer have to do the biopsy of my uterus as he got the answers he wanted from my path review. So... A lot more information. But at least we feel reassured that we are on the right track with the blood flow issues. It's so nice to know we aren't just pulling stuff out of nowhere. It doesn't feel like quite as big of a guessing game!!

Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers! It honestly means the world to not feel like we're alone in this. I'm so thankful to have found some awesome bloggy friends!!

Worried..

I try hard not to bring politics into this blog because it just usually doesn't go over very well. But after last nite's press conference and reading today's news, I don't know how you can ignore it. I can't say it much better than A Sassy Engineer says it right here. Go read this. And pray for our country.

In other news.. On the baby front. I had my blood drawn for my clotting factors test the other day. 10 tubes! I seriously almost passed out and that never happens to me. Oh well.. it's worth it. I'm headed to the doc right now for just a quick exam. I'm hoping to maybe get my results from the clotting test and the pathologist today. Otherwise if I don't hear something soon I will start throwing things. Sharp, pointy things....

You Know The Drill..

It's that time again!! Time to play "Not Me Monday"! Go here for directions, but really you should be on this train by now!!

I did not skip the gym tonite in lieu of Mexican food and margaritas. Because not only would that be counterproductive, but just completely wrong!!

I did not get busted out in front of my whole entire family for something I've been able to keep a secret for a long, long, LONG time by my mother-in-law!! Seriously?!?

I did not follow a healthy eating pattern all weekend of salads and water only to turn around today and down a huge slice of pound cake! That could not have been me!!

I did not plan the schedule perfectly today to ensure that I would not end up with the Samoyed that bites. That would just be wrong!

I did not start my day off by arguing with the cable lady. Because that would be pointless. And my cable would still not be working. .:: ahem cable lady.. Still NOT working!! ::.

And I am not squeezing this post in two minutes before Tuesday.. I'm way more on top of things than that!!

Indy...

Once upon a time there was a family. This family moved to a new house and had to buy groceries at the local store. While at this new store they found a dog. The dog was obviously hungry and not taken care of, so they took the dog. The daughter named the dog Windy Freckles. Windy because she was so small the wind could knock her over and Freckles for the black spots on the white of her snout. Well for some reason this family didn't get Ms. Freckles spayed right away and she got herself in a little situation... ahem. So this family ended up with a litter of puppies. They picked one out to keep. A pretty brown boy the kids named Indiana Jones, because he was the same color as Indy's hat. Indy he became.

I was twelve years old when we got Indy, and I was 26 on the day he left us... It's been a sad day for my family. Our poor baby got diagnosed with heart failure about a month ago. Obviously you all know I work with animals so I know that's no good. But we tried. Indy lives up North with my parents but he sees the doctor I work for down here. We did medication for a while but... Everyday I work with families that have to make that decision of when it's time to let their beloved pet go, and as an outsider it's so easy to say "it's time". But when it's your families beloved pet.. not quite so easy. But we made that decision today. It was only fair to him. I'm going to get all philosophical here for a minute because I've had an emotional day.. A dog is truly man's best friend. They need you and you'll quickly find that you need them. A dog has an unconditional love for it's master. Who else will love you if you cage it up, forget to feed it, or sometimes get home late and leave him out in the cold too long?! (None of those ever happen in our house!!) They want nothing more than to make you happy. To lay at your feet and be petted. To learn tricks that please you. To bark and almost raise the dead if they feel you need to know something. I've been blessed with some amazing family dogs, and I've felt the same way I feel right now when they've had to go on home. I feel blue... It sucks even more for my parents because he's been just "their" dog for years. God bless you Indy for being an amazing dog. I'm sure you're running around in heaven right now with a brand new healthy heart! I bet someone's throwing you a stick right now and you can actually run to go catch it. Thanks for being a great dog...

From the boys...

Hi there! This is the boys from the family! We were reading Mom's blog today and decided we simply didn't see enough about us. So we're here to change that! You see, we're not talked about as much as our sister, Lacy, because we're more well behaved. Therefore not always in our parents faces!! Or that's what we think... Pretty much we're just not as needy as Lacy...

I'm Duke. I'm the oldest at a whopping old age of 4! Mom and Dad adopted me from the Humane Society back before they even got married.. For a while I got to travel back and forth between Mom's apartment in Savannah and Dad's apartment in Myrtle Beach. That was way fun because I love a car ride!! I can be kind of obsessed with my tennis ball. Mom says I'm neurotic but I just like my ball! I'll fetch all day but I don't really like to give it up!! I'm always moving. I'm a hound after all!

I'm very protective of my yard. I really like to bark. That kind of bothers my parents! I really like it when Lacy and Cash chase me. Lacy's my best friend. But don't tell her that!

When Mom and Dad moved to Missouri, I couldn't go. So I went to live in Maryland with my grandparents. Mom and Dad said I was never the same after that!! I'm not sure what that means. Mom says I went crazy.. I did try to tear down a door at Grandma's.. My "person" is my Uncle the Marine. Mom and Dad say we act just a like. That's fine with me! He lets me sleep on the bed when he visits!!

Hi there! I'm Cash.. Yes, like the man in black! Mom brought me home from the clinic she worked at in 2006. I was found by a nice family with a cord grown into my neck.. I was dropped off like that. But those bad times were quickly behind me when I came to this house!!

I'm the quiet one at this house.. I don't really like to be in the way. I've had surgery on my hips so I'm slower than most 2 year olds. But I feel way better now even though I walk with a limp.. Mom calls it my swagger! I really don't like to be away from my parents. It makes me crazy nervous so sometimes I tear up stuff. I don't mean too.. I just don't know what to do without them!! For the longest time I had my parents convinced that I was pretty slow... I got away with a lot... But now they're on to me. Darn it.

I'm part lab and part retriever, so I love the water and love playing fetch. And unlike my older brother, I WILL bring you the ball!! I'm a total Mama's boy, but I do love my Daddy. He calls me Stink. Sometimes I'll only answer to that and it drives my Mom crazy! Dad just laughs!! I get real excited when you talk in high voices and pet me! I might even jump on you!! Mom and Dad say I'm the sweetest dog ever. They're right. I'm usually the best behaved too!!

I'm the cat. I rule the house. That's pretty much it.

I am only a fan of my Dad. Actually, that's a lie. I love everyone. I'm freakishly friendly for a cat. But guess who I don't get along with? Mom. She tries to make me behave. I'm not having it. I am into EVERYTHING. You know why? Because I can be. Mom says I'm not a kitten anymore at a year and a half so I should know how to act. I did mention I don't listen to her right?!

That's me with the fish. I let him live. Did I mention I love my Dad?! He's my best friend!

That's about all from us. We're pretty beat so we're thinking about heading to bed! Mom should be back tomorrow. She's getting stuff ready for our family to come this weekend!!
