let's talk weight.

I know I've mentioned it time and time again on the Twitter, but I'm not sure I've said much of anything about my weight on here. Let's change that shall we?

I'll be honest, I have never been a "skinny" girl. Back in high school, I was the thinnest I've ever been in my life thanks to hours and hours of soccer playing as well as typical high school girl metabolism. At my skinniest, I weighed around one hundred fifty pounds and wore a size ten.

For real.

I was just about the heaviest I have ever been when the hubs and I got married. I honestly don't know numbers, but it wasn't pretty. It's why I don't share a lot of wedding pictures on le blog. They are scary.

My weight tends to fluctuate about ten pounds or so. At the top of that ten pounds, I look swollen, puffy, and feel horrible. At the bottom of that ten pounds, I usually feel pretty good. I stay in the same size clothes but obviously they fit at the lower end of the spectrum and don't at the top.

When I got pregnant, I was at the lower end of that spectrum. I felt great. I was running and playing soccer and was battling the extra weight that my current round of meds had me on. In the first part of my pregnancy, I lost another five pounds and reached a number on the scale that I hadn't seen in years.

Then pregnancy took it's toll. I gained forty four pounds with the little miss and most of it at the very end. You can guess what that left my belly with. :(

*ignore the bruises. Those are from the heparin shots. Odd fact, they're still there. I didn't think bruises scarred?!*
I left the hospital about fifteen to twenty pounds down. Between an almost eight pound baby and a lot of fluid, it was gone in a quickness. Best diet ever. However, I still looked about six months pregnant when I was freed released.

I will admit; I was one of those annoying people that the weight literally fell off of. By six weeks postpartum, I was in my regular clothes. I was back down to the low end of that spectrum (a flabby end, but low none the less). Nursing the child who never stopped eating wore me down. I could not keep up, but that's a different story, point is; weight was gone.

Then it happened; it all came back. When I stopped nursing, I put back on ten pounds with a quickness. Ten pounds led to thirteen pounds. Maternity clothes were the most comfortable clothes again. I was a hot mess.

As I have said time and time again, I am NOT a dieter. I suck at it. I am in love with food. We're super tight. I don't give it up well. However, the working out was lacking at best as I tried to figure out Mommyhood.

So I did it. I joined Weight Watchers.

If you're anything like me, you think WW is for a bunch of "older" women and certainly not for you. But after seeing the results a few of my Twitter friends were having and talking with Katie and MM about their success, I bit the bullet and signed up.

I am so glad I did.

In the first week, I lost five pounds. Now that was mostly water weight and the loss has slowed big time since then. I started on March 20th and so far I'm down about eleven pounds.

Eleven pounds doesn't sound huge (and I was super close to lying a bit on that number to make it more dramatic) but it kind of is. I'm now on the low end of the spectrum and I weigh the number I weighed when I lost weight the first trimester. My clothes fit better and I've gone down a size in shirts. Haven't changed sizes in pants yet, but can wear the jeans I haven't seen in years. Yay!

Obviously I have a lot more work to do, but at least I'm doing something.

I'll admit, I am pretty lax on the whole WW thing. I could definitely be much more strict on myself than I have so far and in the last couple of weeks my loss has slowed down a lot so I need to do that. I'll try to tune in every now and then and give you a WW update. My goal weight is another nineteen pounds down and I'd love to lose another twenty nine. Fingers crossed.

I'm also getting back out there and running with the little. Between that and chasing her around all day, that's my exercise. I could definitely up that some...

I'm back on the fit train y'all. I'm not getting off this ride until all this oh so lovely baby weight (and then some) is gone for good!

*I am in no way affiliated with Weight Watchers nor have I received any compensation for this post. It's just what is working for me. I also barely understand my program (all honesty) and am still figuring it out day by day. Katie has posted a few WW vlogs that have given me a few tips that you should check out if you're at all interested.

I just have to tell you, you look fabulous - in every picture you have up here! I can't imagine how hard that was to gain it back after stopping breast feeding. It must be hard to balance everything... time is just not something you have a lot of. You should be so proud of yourself for being healthy, first and foremost, through WW. It's a great program! Keep up the good work, it's hard!

I honestly think you look amazing! I have always heard great things about WW! 11 pounds is a lot, and you should be super proud of yourself. I hate diets and I absolutely love food, so to me it takes tons of determination and etc to be able to diet.
good luck!

You look great, honestly! I am thinking about joining the WW bandwagon when we move - I've gained about ten pounds over the past year and I'm unhappy about it. So when you say you lost eleven pounds, THAT IS DRAMATIC! Don't minimize that, it's a great accomplishment!

You look fabulous!!!! I love your wedding pic! But I understand about it being about how you feel. I always think that should be our judge of our weight versus some outside ideal. You go, girl!

WW totally works for me. I should join again. I think it's a fun kind of game to count points. I also love food. Love love. A little jealous of your weight falling off. I think I'm still 3 lbs over what I started when I got pregs, and I was carrying around about 5 extra then too.

ELEVEN POUNDS is HUGE! Don't downplay. It's awesome. Kick arse!

Howdy, blog friend! It has been way too long since I commented. I totally just want to say you are doing awesome! I know you know I have been doing WW. I am super up and down on it though. One week I'll lose 3 pounds and the next none (like my yesterday weigh-in and then I got way too depressed). At least overall I'm losing about a pound a week. I'll take what I can get. I think you are looking awesome! I don't think you ever looked bad, but seeing as how I'm doing it too, I know sometimes we feel we don't look as good and definitely don't feel as good. I took pictures, and even though I have lost 12 pounds, I don't think it looks like it all so I'm afraid to post pictures. Maybe I will when I reach my goal. Anyway, I'll encourage you to keep working and we'll reach our goal together! I just hope I can stay there after I get there. Hope you are having a great day with your sweet family :)

I think you look awesome at your current weight! Seriously! I joined WW in late February, and I do like it. I mean, if you follow it, it totally works. But I'm like you, I LOVE food. Love love it. So it IS hard for me, and no I don't follow it to a tee, and no I don't log my food every day. I completely fell of the bandwagon a few weeks ago, so I'm trying to do really well right now, but it's not easy. I have just learned that for me, I am going to be hungry on WW, I just am. AND even if I'm NOT hungry, per se, I will want food. I've just had to accept it and remember that it DOES work, and I love seeing the numbers fall. I've got about 20 lbs left to lose also, and we can totally do it!
