Truth be told, I didn't even shower until after my run last night at 8:30. Gross right? Wasn't yesterday a holiday?!
In the overall scheme of things, you'd have to call yesterday a holiday #fail. We didn't leave the house, we didn't see fireworks, and BG didn't step foot into her smocked flag dress that I pre-ordered months ago.
In fact, she found this little getup (complete with wand and crown) early on and refused to take it off til nap time. Apparently she didn't care about wearing her some red, white, and blue.
So yea, in that way, we bombed our holiday. But in other ways, we sort of rocked it.
There were child labor laws broken when Mr. P decided bright and early that The Bug needed a bath and enlisted the help of one tiny little girl.
But she loved it. And couldn't get enough. And might have gotten just as much of a bath as The Bug did.
The rest of the day was spent napping, baking fruit pizza (for the win!), and playing in the pool. Well playing for her, sun basking and reading for me.
Oh yeah... and there was ice cream. But of course.
I was a bit bummed that we didn't get to see any fireworks but that's just the stage of life we're in I guess. Some day BG won't go to bed at 7:30 and we'll do more things and it will be awesome. But days like this are pretty awesome too. I mean I was in bed early with a good book and a good glass of wine. That's a win no?
Hope y'all had a great 4th!!!

I dont have any awesome pics either, even though we did go to a fireworks show, which btw had a malfunction....love the pic of her with upturned ice cream
bowl!
That pic of her dumping the bowl over her head is adorable! Who needs fireworks when your mom lets you do that?!
Hilarious about the fairy outfit. NOT even worth the fight, right!?
Those pictures ARE Fourth of July at its best! Such gorgeous pictures!
She is total cuteness!!! And isn't a holiday when you don't have to shower until late in the day and just do whatever you feel like and not what you have to do?
