At two years old, you are quite the little individual. You are a strong willed child. You know what you want and you're willing to test all limits to get it. You are independent. You can dress yourself, put on your own shoes, wash your own hands, and brush your teeth. You think you can do pretty much anything and given the chance to try, you'll probably figure it out.You are funny. You love to make us laugh and you love to laugh. You have a laugh that is one of a kind. Your teacher said it best the other day when talking about you. She was telling a story about you and your two little pals and how y'all cut up at nap time. Then when y'all finally got quiet she said she could her you and "that laugh of hers". It's well known girl. It's infectious.
You are polite. Your "pleases" and "thank yous" and "bless yous" make my heart smile. We're working to turn the "back ups!" and "move"s to "excuse me"s. Small steps right?
You love to dance. You have no idea how much it thrills me to turn on the radio and look to see you just a grooving. Music is in your soul sweet girl. It does the same thing to me. Sometimes I'll look over and you'll just be swaying to your own beat. Keep doing that baby. Keep doing that.
You love animals. You prefer movies with live animals to cartoons any day. Well, except for maybe Curious George. You're on a big kick for him these days. You get excited to go out and look for birds, caterpillars, butterflies, and whatever animal you can find. You are great with the dogs and getting better with our cat. You bust out in tears when they get in trouble. You just can't take it.
You are a Daddy's girl through and through but you still want your Mommy near by. I love that. Even when you're getting ready for bed with Daddy at night and having a blast with him, you still call out "Mommy! Come here please!" just to make sure I'm around. I always am.
You are on, all the time. From the minute your feet hit the ground in the morning, it's on. I think that's why you sleep so good. You are just so busy. There is so much you want to see and do in a day. You can't get enough and I love that.
Speaking of sleeping, you still go to bed about 7:30 or so and will sleep til 8 or 8:30 if we let you. And you still take a good two hour nap every afternoon. I am beyond thankful for your sleeping habits child.
You are wildly attached to your Blankie and Wubbie. Wildly. We're working on encouraging the blanket love while curtailing the Wubbie love a little bit. I know it needs to go, but truthfully, it might break my Mama heart to take it from you so you've got it for a bit longer.
You love Max (your dog) and "Miki", which is a wild haired creature you got last Christmas (dubbed "Snookie" by Mom). It is actually the first thing you named on your own. I think I cried when you did that.
Nine times out of ten, you prefer anything but your toys. Occasionally you'll settle down enough to do a puzzle, or "make coffee" (Mom's an addict) in your kitchen, but you much prefer nature walks, hunting for rocks, and chasing the dogs.
You talk a lot. I can't even count what you can say. You say four word sentences like they're going out of style and you just started saying longer ones ("See airplane Mommy? See airplane up in the sky?" is your newest one. Can also be "bird").
You love your accessories. You are all girl in that way. You ask for your bow when I do your hair in the morning, you like to pick out your shoes, and you love wearing your necklaces and bracelets.
You walk around with something to write with a lot. And you love to get paper and "write" or color.
You can take your own shoes and socks off and put them on. Not too interested in undressing or dressing the rest of you though.
Potty training is at a standstill as you've lost all interest. We're not pushing you though; we're letting you dictate how this stage goes.
You are such a sweet girl. If we say "ouch!" or anything along those lines you say "Are you okay Mommy?" and get all concerned. I love your heart.
You still love to sing your ABC's, the Spider song, Twinkle Stars, and Jesus loves me.
You learned your first Bob Marley. I sing "get up, stand up" and I stand you up after a diaper change and you jump up and sing "stand up for your rights!". Proud Mom moment right there y'all.
