goings on

My house looks like Party City threw up in it.

There is stuff everywhere. It's sort of ridiculous.

I've been working on a slideshow for the party for weeks now. The other day? I clicked a button and it's now gone. I kid you not. It's out there in the wild blue yonder of Internetland. That's my chore for tomorrow.

Hope it doesn't take more than thirty minutes though because I currently have a little girl on a nap strike living in my house. We've been battling bad screamies and tears at bedtime and naptime for days. My sanity, is hanging by a thin thread. A very thin thread.

This morning BG woke up at the crack of dawn. This was after keeping me up til 2 and waking me up sometime after three. It was still dark out. So I climbed out of bed, walked into the kitchen and did my morning ritual. I touched the coffee pot to see if it was warm (meaning hubs made coffee) and since it was. I poured myself a cup and took a big sip...

Of vinegar water from hubs cleaning the pot.

I was furious. Not only had I had no sleep, but now there was no coffee?!? And... I didn't do the dishes last night (sue me) so the sink was so full I couldn't wash the pot and I couldn't. have. coffee.

I ran the dishwasher with just my coffee pot in there. Don't tell hubs.

Actually tell him. I don't care. He made me drink vinegar water.

BG started blowing kisses on Saturday. It is the cutest thing I've ever seen. Then she switched to using the back of her hand to blow them. That might actually be the cutest thing ever.

She's also a dancer. She's been doing it for a while now, but she's really gotten into it this past month. She has this little carry along Baby Einstein "walkman" that she stops, presses, and dances to all day. She's funny. Although it looks like she got Mama's dance skills. Poor soul.

I mentioned on Twitter (and maybe on here, I can't remember) that our camera broke the other day. Yes, right before her birthday (the nerve!). Well tonight, my hubby came home with this little ditty. The man is a saint. Miraculously he is now forgiven for the coffee incident.

My head is all over the place. This no sleep is making me feel all Girl, Interrupted.

first father's day.

We had a great first Father's Day celebration for Mr. Perfect yesterday. Baby Girl and I let him sleep til 7 (that's late in this house nowadays!) and then went in and woke him up to give him his gifts.

Baby Girl, myself, and the pups all gave the Mister a nice card, but I think Baby Girl's might have been the best. =) I had found a card where she could record a message and got her to coo into that. Only took 4 days to get her to do that (she'd be cooing or laughing away til I pressed the record button, then silence), but it turned out so cute!

We got Mr. Perfect a new shirt and some cigars that he wanted, but the best present by far was from BG. Her and I had gone a few weeks ago to make him a Father's Day plate with her footprints on it and it turned out awesome. I know guys don't usually dig the sappy stuff, but he seemed to really like this. I personally love it. But I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff.. =)

my heart and soul..

After opening gifts, we headed to Sunday School and church and then lunch at the grandparents after that. Of course there was a photo session..

Could they possibly be any cuter?!?

Baby Girl with her Daddy and great-granddad. We missed our Pops!!

my family...

I adore my family. I can't thank God enough for blessing me with these two. They are my world!

After lunch Baby Girl and I sacked out on the couch until Mr. P woke us up to "get his girls home and in the bed". I love hearing that. And so we headed home where her and I slept and he enjoyed some time to himself.

In all honesty, that was probably the best gift we gave him yesterday!

Hope you had the best Father's Day ever babe. Your girls sure do love you...

the mister's birthday

Yes. I realize this is ridiculously late, but what are you going to do?! I'm kind of a slacker.

A few weeks back, my favorite guy turned (shhh) 33 years old. Mr. Perfect is not a huge fan of birthdays, so he never lets me make a big deal out of it, but I had to plan something. So two of our closest friends and the three of us headed downtown one night to eat at Five Guys and just hang out.

It was quite different hanging out downtown with 2 babies, as opposed to the activities we used to get into down there. But I definitely prefer it this way.

Both babies did great at the restaurant. Kathryn was perfectly alert (she's 5 months old), and Baby Girl slept through the whole experience. It was nice to get out with her and have some adult interaction for a bit.

After dinner, we walked down to the City Market area in our town. They have done a lot of work down there and it looks awesome. There was a band playing in the courtyard, so KP and I sat down with the girls for a while while the boys went looking for open stores.

Our girls. They're so going to be bff's.

But not if K keeps trying to eat Baby Girl's clothes!

Eventually we had to go find the boys so that we could head home. The girls were both getting cranky because we'd had them out for so long and it was getting late.

It was 10 o' clock. We used to head down there about that time. Who are we?!

These girls melt me..

When we got home and BG to bed, the Mr. and I dug into a Mississippi Mud Cake made by yours truly.

Yes. I made that. We couldn't believe it either.

I think he had a good time. I know he hates being the center of attention, but he deserves it. He works so hard and does so much for me and BG that we love having a day to spoil him! We love you babe!

the best day.

Five years ago today, I lived the best day of my life.

I married my best friend.

I can honestly say it just keeps getting better.

Mr. Perfect I just want you to know how much I love you. I love that you are the head of our household and you take your job seriously. I love how you love the Lord and are a godly example for our home. I love how you love me. I adore how you love your daughter.

You make me smile constantly. You make me laugh and most important, you make me feel safe. I know you always have my back and will stand up for me against anything.

I love how we're building a marriage that our daughter can be proud of. A type of marriage that she'll someday long for. I love that you're being the best example of the kind of man that she needs to wait for.

I love that you work all day and come home and still cook me dinner because you know I'll starve otherwise. I love that you dance around the living room with BG til she falls asleep. I really love that you sing her the Rolling Stones. No lullabies for this girl!

You are amazing. This little family we're building just gets better and stronger everyday and I can't get enough of it. I love you forever babe...

2009: A look back

Wow. This has been quite a year. I have to say that 2009 was one of the best years of my life. I fell even more in love with my amazing husband, I finally figured out the value of a few true friends, I lost some not so great friends which ended up being an amazing blessing, I battled my infertility, and am currently falling head over heels in love with this little girl I'm carrying.

Seriously. Could it get any better?

Just for fun, and because I saw this on Mrs. Everlasting's blog and loved it, here is a look back at my 2009...

January: I started off the New Year quietly, on my couch, with my family, recovering from surgery after my 4th miscarriage. Mr. Perfect, the Marine, and I got a wild hair and headed out for tatoos (I got the smallest of the 3, trust...). I celebrated my dear friend, KT's 23rd birthday with some of my favorite people.

February: Mr. Perfect and I got baptised and joined our church. I fell a little more in love with Mr. Perfect as he truly became the spiritual leader of our house. My family lost our dog due to heart failure. My best pal, AP, turned 26 in our true fashion; a late night, lots of laughs, and way too many margaritas. Mr. Perfect pulled off the best Valentine's night over, by celebrating on Friday the 13th and taking me on a ghost tour.

March: I ran my first 5k! Mr. Perfect and I remodeled our bedroom. We took a much overdue trip to visit my parentals in Baltimore and even though I froze, we had a blast. My coworker, Nebraska, moved back home leaving me all sad and stuff at work. =(

April: I had surgery to repair the septum in my uterus and was also diagnosed with endometriosis. Mr. Perfect and I ventured to Small Town, SC for a nice Easter with his family. I officially fell head over heels in love with running.

May: I celebrated my 4 year anniversary with the love of my life. We bought Rock Band and it changed my life. My amazing husband turned 32 (!). My goddaughter turned 2 and we headed to Charleston for her birthday weekend. I was the DD for Cinco de Mayo and decided never to do that again!

June: I spent a lot of time at the beach and out on the river. Truly my happy place. My best friend's son turned 6 and we headed back up to Charleston for his birthday weekend. Mr. Perfect and I had two teenage girls from his home church come stay with us for a week. We decided we should never be parents to girls... ironic much?!?

July: Mr. Perfect surprised me with the best belated anniversary present ever. I spent the 4th of July weekend on the river with my family and it was one of the best weekends ever. My aunt and uncle from Texas came down for a week and I got to meet my new step-cousin whom I adore.

August: I played in a soccer tournament the first weekend of the month.. it would be my last for a while! I found out on August 3rd that our lives were forever changed with a little positive sign. We had a slight scare early on, but this one stuck with us...

September: I turned twenty seven. Holy wow. Mr. Perfect planned a nice dinner at home with my family since I was exhausted. Then my girls took me out for a nice dinner the next night to celebrate. My pal, KW, gave birth to her daughter, Gabby, forever changing our little circle of friends. The Marine came and spent a few weeks with us before heading back up to Base, North Carolina.

October: I threw a baby shower for just one of my many prego friends, KT. Mr. Perfect and I headed up to Base, NC to see the Marine off to A-stan. It didn't quite work out, but at least we got to spend a week with him before he left. I carved pumpkins with Mr. Perfect and AP and didn't stop laughing even once the whole time. Mr. Perfect and I headed out for a night of belly dancers with some of our friends and had a grand old time.

November: Threw a baby shower for my best friend, KP. Headed up to Small Town, SC for Thanksgiving dinner with Mr. Perfect's family. Found out that our precious baby was a girl!!! Top 10 best moments of my life...

December: Spent a lovely holiday season with family. Made sure to enjoy every last minute of mine and Mr. Perfect's last Christmas together just the two of us. Dragged Mr. Perfect to multiple Christmas parties (his words, not mine). Welcomed KP's daughter, Katherine, to the world. I plan on ending the New Year in the same spot on my couch I started it on, but this time while my baby kicks away at my ribs the whole time...

So long 2009. It was a doozy, but I've never had so much fun in my life. I can't wait to see what 2010 has in store for us...

Happy New Years y'all!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Christmas decorations, oh how I love thee.

I managed to wait until the Saturday after Thanksgiving to decorate. That is some major self control on this girls' part.

But once Saturday rolled around, I dragged Mr. Perfect to the nearest Christmas tree farm Food Lion (hey, I live in the city and have no idea where a tree farm is), and bought our tree.

He might have been a little bit sick, sorry sweets, but he was more than willing to go buy the tree. Might have had something to do with shutting me up, but whatever works.

Let the madness decorating begin.

Putting the first ornament on...

Our tree! It's still pretty bare, but we get a few new ornaments each year. I don't have the room for multiple trees, so right now I love my hodge podge tree.

Up close

Don't know if you can tell, but we have no ornaments at the bottom of the tree... I have mentioned my deep love for out cat right?!?

DVD shelves

One end table

The other end table with my favorite plate

The coffee table. That gold hook should have something hanging from it, but I thought it was an ornament and put it on the tree and now I can't find it.... Hmmm

The hearth. Ignore the board holding up our mantle please. That's a home improvement task gone slightly astray. We're figuring it out. I'm also trying to figure out a way to conceal the satellite and dvd boxes, but haven't quite gotten that one yet either...

The mantle. The Mr. was loving him some "Cops" while I was trying to do this.

Another shelf..

Dining area with Baby Girl's mattress just chilling out.

My Christmas village in the guest room..

Another view of the tree

Well there's my little tour. Hope you enjoyed a glimpse into our little holiday home! I'd be perfectly fine with doing more and more each year!!

rando thoughts..

I still have the second part of my weekend to talk about, but I'm honestly too lazy to download pictures right now. Yep. Lazy.

I have a list of about 25 things to take care of before Mr. Perfect and I head to North Carolina to see the Marine off this Friday. Ask me how many are done?

My bff from college just moved down here and I scored a free haircut out of the deal! I love having a hair stylist/makeup artist bff. Now if she'll just hook me up with some free products.....

The mister was off all day and I came home to freshly bathed dogs, a clean house, and the laundry done. Seriously, how did I get so daggum lucky?!

I officially cannot button my pants. I am not ready to go buy maternity clothes. What to do?! I bought the Bella Band but do those things really work? I'm afraid I'm going to wear it out and my pants will fall down. I know I'm irrational, but that could totally happen right?!

I can't think anymore. Where's my second trimester energy boost?!?

weekend wrap-up part 1.

Wow. I am exhausted.

Saturday my friend Turstal and I threw a baby shower for our bestie, KT. Of course being the procrastinator I am, I had a ton of stuff left to do Friday night to have everything ready for Saturday. No big deal, I thought while sitting at work on Friday. Right.

So Friday afternoon, Turstal calls me and makes my day gives me news that send me into panic mode. Her son has the swine flu. She's not coming to the shower so as not to be around the 5(!) pregnant girls that will be there. Oh, and she still has a list of stuff to do as well. Oh... and she forgot to order the diaper cake.

Are. You. Kidding. Me?!?!?!?

I wasn't mad at her at all. Totally disappointed that she wasn't going to get to be there, and yes, stressed that my to-do list just grew by epic proportions.

Well I got it all done. Even managed to squeeze in dinner with my friend AP and her mom. I might have had to stay up til 1 am and I might have had to enlist Mr. Perfect's help in the making of the diaper cake (thank you google for your step-by-step instructions!) but I was almost completely ready to go by the time I went to bed Friday night.

He was pretty excited about rolling up some diapers.

Not too shabby for my first attempt huh? Remember, I am not crafty AT ALL!

Saturday morning I got up and ran a few last minute errands. Mr. Perfect and I headed to the grocery store for food for us him to make for the shower. Then I packed it all up and headed to the party.

Thankfully I have amazing friends who knew Turstal wasn't going to be able to make it and a few of them showed up early to help me get everything ready.

The little mama!! Her son is due the first of January.

Some of the guests. I was pleased with the turnout. And the fact that I got away with really only playing one game! I HATE baby shower games.. Sorry!

The 5 pregnant girls at the shower. Clearly there's something in the water at work!! Babies due in November, January, February, March, and April. So far 2 boys and a girl. I'm not sure why my bump is popping so much here. Probably the 800 pigs in a blanket I ate!

I had a blast and am so glad I managed to pull it off besides my minor freak out. Thanks so much to my AMAZING friends and my PERFECT husband for all their help! If it weren't for them.. I so couldn't have done it. I do not do well with stress.. uh uh.

That night we met up with some friends and tried a new place out, but that's going to have to come later because I'm tired and Blogger is taking too long to upload my pics. Hope you all had a great weekend!
