Some of my favorite bloggers, SunshineMeg and Kassie, have been just darlings and made it awards season over here! So thank you ladies!!


So I'm supposed to list 7 random things about me and I've already done this before, so if I repeat... well just pretend I didn't.

1. I work with animals and I get a sick thrill out of being able to handle the really mean ones. I don't know what it is, but give me the dog no one else can handle.. I'm on it.
2. I am deathly afraid of bees. I've only been stung once and it was my fault; I caught the thing, but now I am a basket case. I will cry if I feel like I can't get away from them.
3. I might love my dog too much. As in I think it would be great if I had a little boy so that Lacy could stay my little princess a little longer. Can't believe I admitted that!
4. I am horrible at returning phone calls. There's not a good reason, I just LOATHE talking on the phone!
5. I always have to be wearing earrings. It's because my earlobes are very different sizes and I feel like the earring hide that. I don't know why.
6. I love elephants and monkeys. I will almost always buy something if they have them on it. Except for anything Roll Tide related.
7. I love, love, LOVE road trips. Especially with the hubs. We roll the windows down and blare the radio and just have a blast. I love him.. =)

Ok because I'm a serious slacker, I've yet to post about 2 awards one of my fave bloggers, A Sassy Engineer, bestowed upon me a while ago. If you haven't checked out her blog yet, you really should. Especially on Fridays when she gives tips on how to decorate and other stuff on a budget. Love it!

My Dawgs didn't pull it out Saturday. Boo. I don't really want to talk about it. Hopefully we'll get it together quickly.

My parents are still in town and are staying until Friday. Why Friday? Well it's my birthday!! So we're celebrating all week. Well, I am. They're more than welcome to if they want to.

And in other news, The Marine is back from his training in Cali and is back on the East Coast! Yay! He gets two weeks off coming up soon before his deployment and will be able to come home for a while. Thank goodness. I feel like I haven't seen him in months.

Well I'm off to a quick eye exam this afternoon (fun) and then to a cookout tonite. Hope you all are enjoying your long weekend!!

I'm a complete slacker. I've gotten a couple of awards lately and don't want you sweet ladies to think I don't appreciate them, because I do!! I just have the attention span of a flea.


I received the Honest Scrap Award from Meg and Loren. Both of these ladies have the sweetest blogs and you should most definitely check them out sometime!

Here are the Honest Scrap stipulations:

I think this award has been going around for a while so if you're reading this and haven't received it before, then consider yourself tagged. I do love a cop out. =)

My 10 things.. hmmm.

1. I am still deathly afraid of the thought of having children. Insane I know with everything I'm going through, but I am terrified. Deserves a post in and of itself. Maybe one day.

2. I will not tolerate rudeness in people. Get over yourself. It is my top pet peeve.

3. I cannot get to work on time. I know I don't get up early enough, but even on those rare occasions I do get up early, I will still play around and end up late. At least I get there before my boss does so he has no idea.. teehee.

4. If I don't like you, you will know it. I am a horrible actress and honestly, I just hate wasting people's time. I mean nothing by it, but seriously, wouldn't you rather know what people think of you?! I would. No false pretenses here.

5. I laugh in horribly inappropriate situations. Like funerals and carrying deceased pets out to their owners. I can't help it. I do not do well in high stress. I'm pretty good at hiding the flaw of mine though.

6. I've torn the ligaments in my left knee so many times that it now never locks into place. It just kind of swings back and forth and gives out on me a lot. Doesn't hurt though, it just stays numb.

7. I get a head ache every single day. I can set my watch by those suckers.

8. I HATE shopping. Gasp! But I love clothes, accessories, shoes, purses, etc. I can online shop for days, but to head to a mall, sends me into a mild anxiety attack. See # 2. They are out in droves running amongst us and I always find them when out shopping. If I go shopping I know just what I want and where to get it and I am in and out. Thinking about just going window shopping and not buying?!? I think I just broke into hives.....

9. I very rarely get angry. I wouldn't call me overly optimistic. I just tend to live in my own little (happy) world. I love the people (and animals) I surround myself with, so I have no reason to be mad. Except at work. But I get over it quickly.

10. I love old people. Especially little old men. They are my heart. I prefer the seniors in our church to the ones my age any day of the week. I wonder if I'll still like old people when I am one.. hmmmmmm

odds and ends.

Getting up in the morning to do the Shred lasted one day. One measly, freakin' day. I chose a half hour more of sleep over getting up to hang out with Jillian.

I'd be hard pressed to find someone that blames me for that.

I put in another 2 miles this afternoon. Other than having to basically carry my dog the last 1/4 mile, it was pretty uneventful. I had to call the hubs after the run and make sure he'd have water for her as soon as we walked in the door. He got her water; didn't think to have any waiting for me!

Priorities....

Plus she's been a huge support to me through all this crazy female stuff and that's been amazing.. Here's hoping to August bellies girlie!

2. JLC at French Kiss. She is the nicest person I think I've ever "met". She's always got something to say and it usually cracks me up and makes my day! I love her comments! Now I just need to get up to NYC and see her.. =)

3. Lindsey over at Learning to Be A Wife. Because she is the sweetest blogger out there and how could you not want to be her friend?! She's always quick to comment and has the sweetest things to say!

4. Megan over at Tales of the Trees. Hands down hilarious. And I do like a funny gal! I just know we'd laugh and carry on for days together!! I think I should head to the Midwest since 2 of my favorite Megan's are out there!! Plus she has fabulous hair. Who doesn't want friends with fabulous hair?!?

5. Erin at Blue-Eyed Bride. Once again, so freakin' nice and so funny. I'm still disappointed I missed her when she was in town!! boo. I love her take on just about everything; from babies to music, she's pretty much always right on! We could totally hang out and drink our sweet tea vodka's and be the sweet, little southern gals we are! =)

That was hard. I hate being selective. I love all you ladies!!

Pretty crazy weekend in store. My best friend from college is actually getting ready to move this way, so she's coming into town this weekend to look at apartments and will be staying with us. It's also my friend Turstal's birthday so we'll be having a grand 'ol girls nite for that tomorrow nite. Then Saturday the Mr. and I are headed to Charleston for my goddaughter's 2nd birthday. So much to do, but I lurve it. Hope you guys all have a great weekend!

Stuck Inside..

Since Friday is my 8 hour venture into Hell day to sit at work all day by myself and answer the phone, I am currently stuck inside while it's gorgeous outside.

What's a girl to do? Well this one has been reading new blogs all day. Oh. And shopping. But shhh on that one...

I did decide to mop while I'm stuck in here. A little productivity never killed anyone right?

Wrong. Well almost.

I totally busted it mopping the bathroom. And in my scramble to grab something to keep me up (think a cat flailing in the bathtub), I think I pulled a muscle in my back.

It's either that or I'm sitting here having a heart attack.

1. shoes. 'Nuf said.
2. clean sheets. Nothing quite like climbing into a bed with fresh sheets.
3. beer. I can't help it. I'm a good 'ol Southern girl and can drink a beer with the best of 'em. I blame where I went to college. Bud Light was easier to find than water!
4. sports. I love everything about them. I love cheap beer, expensive hot dogs, cheesy jerseys, and the National Anthem. There's nothing like a good ball game. This includes baseball, football, soccer, etc...
5. music. you can have movies. I can barely sit still for them, but I've got the music. I can be kind of a snob about my music. sorry.
6. the South. I'm ridiculously in love with where I live. I've traveled all over this great country, and while I think there's great things about every area, my heart is in the Georgia clay. Yep... we have clay, not dirt. and it won't come out in the wash.

I totally told my Mom about the Marine's little girlfriend tonite. Of course that went over well. Not. I have the weirdest relationship with my family ever.

I despise telephone customer service agents. Despise. Does anyone ever actually get anywhere with these guys?!?

Remember this lady?! Well she's back..... (say that all scary movie-ish. This situation deserves it!!) I'll have to tell you about that later. I just slammed my hand into the wall. (see note about customer service agents. Also see previously unmentioned note about Megs' horrible temper!)
