saturday morning scene

We're linking up with Katie this morning to show you what we're up to this Saturday morning. So far, it's been a lot of coffee for Mom and a lot of play time for BG. My mom is here too so BG is putting on quite the show.

I swear my kid has pants somewhere. Enjoy your weekend!

weekend wrap-up

Wow. Haven't done one of these in a while. Mostly because lately my weekends and weekdays look exactly the same. Perk (low?) of the job I guess.

But before all that, check out my new look! One of my favorite bloggers, Katie over at Loves of Life, spruced up the 'ol page for me and I couldn't love it anymore. She was ridiculously easy to work with and had the blog makeover done so quickly. Highly recommend her.

We spent 98% of this weekend on the road. Good times with a toddler. We packed up on Saturday and headed down to Columbia for Hudson's second birthday party. Unfortunately, we hit stand still traffic right outside of town for almost an hour and ended up being way more than fashionably late. Boo.

Fortunately, we still were there in time for BG to get out and play with the boys some. And for the food. Yum. Erin did an incredible job on the party. Check her blog out for the details. I'll save the pictures of the kiddos until she shares hers so check there tomorrow to check out H in his adorable birthday suit.

BG and I stuck around town for a little while after the party and were able to hang out with Erin and her husband, TC. So fun. Time with Erin is quickly becoming some of my favorite girl time and TC is a riot. Such a great afternoon with them!

On Sunday, Mr. Perfect, BG, and I packed up and headed up to Greensboro for his cousin's wedding reception. BG did awesome on this trip and slept til we got to Charlotte to stop for lunch, and then quietly played in the back the rest of the trip. The reception was a nice time with family and friends although I spent most of it chasing my toddler.

BG was on her best behavior. Besides the trail of goldfish around the room (oops), you really wouldn't have even known she was there. She did spend a good portion of her afternoon wandering from table to table and charming the people around her. People adore her. Thank goodness for that.

I dragged her out on the dance floor to do the cupid shuffle with me. She loved that. I loved the burn in my legs when my old tail got off the dance floor. Mr. P took BG out on the floor for a father/daughter dance at one point. My heart melted. It's probably still on that floor.

The little girls there LOVED BG which worked out great for us because they wore her tail out. By the time we left, she was basically comatose. She passed out the minute we hit the car. Unfortunately she woke up when we stopped for dinner and stayed awake the rest of the way home and hours after that. So that was fun.

We had a blast. Even being in the car for most of the weekend, it just felt so good to get out and go.

I'm paying for it today though. I'm all kinds of exhausted.

weekend wrap-up.

We had an absolute blast this weekend.

Mr. Perfect didn't have to work at all, so we jumped head first into some major Christmas activities.

Friday night we got bundled up and headed downtown to see our town's Christmas tree being lit. It. Was. Cold.

And BG looks Russian. Hmmm...

The tree all lit up. There were a ton of people out there.

Santa showed up but there were so many children and it was past BG's bed time so we didn't stick around to see him.

We got home and tried to take BG's pictures for her eight month photo shoot. It's not quite so easy anymore..

Saturday we lazed around the house and had a super quiet morning.

Well as quiet as it can be with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse blaring in the background.

After nap time, we got BG all bundled up and took her to the mall for some Christmas shopping and to meet Santa.

While we were in line, we watched multiple children have meltdowns on Santa's lap. I just knew BG was going to be one of those since she was skipping her afternoon nap to meet the big guy. She laughed the whole time we were in line and charmed all the people around us. Then it came time to sit with Santa.

No smile. But no tears.

I'll take it. Santa even told me he preferred the good quiet kids when I picked her up.

Me too Santa, me too.

That night, Mr. P stayed home with BG for a while and let me run some errands without her. It was kind of nice to get out of the house without my 20 pound kiddo for a while. Amazing how quick I can get things done without the extra poundage.

And when I got home? He had delicious, warm soup waiting on me.

I do love that man.

Sunday we tried a new church up here. We didn't love it. But the nursery workers loved BG. Duh.

We played around for a bit that afternoon and let BG practice running from us. Good times.

Then we bundled up and headed out to the Christmas parade.

We had a good time, but it was so dang cold that we didn't stay long. We thought it better to hang out in our nice warm apartment.

I did anyway. I hate being cold.

I realize that I just quit complaining about being hot, but seriously. Where did my fall go?!?

Sunday night we hung around the house and got ready for our week. Not going to lie. I had a blast taking part in all the Christmas activities, but I got pretty bummed when we didn't like the church. I want to be at my own church during the holidays as we worship during this special time.

But it will be fine.

I absolutely loved starting new traditions with the little one though. And am so thankful that I have a husband that is willing to trug along to all the activities I plan.

Even if our eyelids freeze over while we partake in them.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Let's call this wrap-up the Greenville edition.

As in South Carolina. Where we spent our weekend.

I've alluded to the fact on this here blog that some big changes are in the air for the Imperfect household. Well as those changes are officially rolling along, I feel okay in sharing with you ladies.

A couple of weeks ago, I asked for your prayers involving a situation. You ladies rallied of course and we got answers big time.

You see, a few weeks ago the Mister lost his job.

Gulp.

The past two weeks have been stressful to say the least as we re-budgeted, checked out our options, and did some serious mild panicking.

I have to say, I have felt oddly at peace with this whole transition which is very, very odd for this girl as I am a natural born worrier. I was stressed don't get me wrong, but I never hit full on panic mode.

The past two weeks, Mr. Perfect has been doing the stay-at-home Dad thing. He's loved it, she's loved it, but it's not for him. Poor boy looked so harried when I came home one day after she had spent the entire afternoon screaming. She's a lot sometimes.

But he did it. And he was awesome and I really, really think they both truly enjoyed their time together.

Thankfully, that time is already over.

Mr. Perfect has found another job, thanks entirely to the prayers we have been blanketed in. I can't say enough about the power of prayer.

The job is in Greenville, SC so we'll be packing it up and moving it out. But that process is another post. This post is about this weekend.

Saturday we got up early to hit the road. We made a few more stops than we're used to on road trips with BG, but she did so, so well. I can't brag on her enough.

We stopped just outside of Columbia for lunch.

BG slept the entire way up to Columbia for lunch and then right back to sleep for the rest of the ride.

We got to Greenville about 5 hours after we started. We spent a few hours looking around before heading back to the hotel. BG would literally wake up to walk around a house, look around, and then go right back to sleep once we got in the car. I was so worried that she wasn't going to sleep that night since she spent the entire day asleep.

We took a break to go eat some lunch and chill out in the hotel. BG was in rare form. She didn't want to play, didn't want to eat, didn't want to watch football (gasp!). Finally she collapsed and went back to sleep.

This is how she sleeps now. Can you say "Mama has a panic attack?!".

After her nap, we drove around for a while scoping out neighborhoods and checking out the place where Mr. P would soon be working.

We went back to the hotel to get settled in for the night. BG got her bath, dinner, and story time late, but she was such a trooper. And despite the fact that she had been asleep literally all day, she went right to sleep in her pack-n-play after about five minutes of looking around.

I cannot stress enough about how good this baby is. I know our (notyetagreedonordefinitelydecidedupon) next one will be a hellian since we got so lucky with her.

The next morning we headed home. BG slept for only an hour of that trip. But she was content to play and laugh with Mom in the backseat for the rest of the drive.

After meeting up with the family for a quick lunch, we headed back to the house to hang out with Mr. P until he had to head back to Greenville.

Having a stare down with the cat..

Mr. P packed back up and hit the road about 3. We already miss him. In fact, we had to go shopping with Aunt Ash to distract ourselves. It sucks being away from him, but we've got to deal with that for now..

We did come back home on Sunday to take her 27 week picture and record this little ditty for her Daddy. We sure do miss him already...

monster playdate.

A while back, I posted about a shower that I threw for a former co-worker of mine. The clinic that KT and I worked at at the time, was going through a little baby boom while we were employed there. I posted a picture of five of us that were all pregnant and at that shower.

Three of us got together the other night with another former co-worker and her baby for one big 'ol play date.

My friend, Ashley, and her son were visiting from Texas and we wanted to get all the babies together while she was in town. It's so crazy that all of us used to work together and now have babies around the same age. It was so good to spend some time with Ashley and catch up with the other girls, who live around here, but we just don't have the time to hang out that we used to!

All of us- KT & T-bear (7 months), Emma & Mollie (6 months), BG (4 months)and myself, and Ashley & Colton (3.5 months).
I love how my child clearly knows how to work the camera. Obviously she never has pictures taken of herself...

We tried to get a picture of the babies all lined up. Not so easy.

Of course, somehow BG got hit in the face (have you seen those cheeks?! They're everywhere!) and melted down, leading to a chain reaction of melt downs. My child people.

We managed to get a good one of BG & T-bear. T-bear has a little crush on Miss Girl.. Shh...

KT & T-bear.

Ashley & BG- she couldn't wait to hold BG. I think the chubby baby thighs just drew her in.

Colton & I

After KT & Emma left with their kiddos, Ashley and I sat around and caught up some while the kiddos ate. Ashley battles with PCOS and had a hard time getting her little man here. We've seen each other through a lot of heartache to get our babies and it was so nice to sit there with our little babies and see how far we've come. Then we swapped horror labor stories and both gave our reasons on why we only want one! Good laughs there.

It's crazy to hang out with these girls and see how much everyone's lives have changed. I had a great time growing up with them, but honestly? I like this stage of our lives so much more. I can't imagine a better Friday night than hanging out with good friends and amazing babies....
