release the thoughts.

As in "release the hounds". Get it? Yea, pretty much got nothing over here but a hodge podge of thoughts. Here goes.

It is ridiculous cold outside. Ridiculous. There is ice everywhere. The South doesn't know how to handle ice, therefore we've been iced in for days. I gots the cabin fever mad bad. Which is odd because it's not like we usually go anywhere anyway. But I like to have the option.

Seeing as how it's all icy and junk, the local apartment meatheads apparently can't work out at Gold's or Jack's Jumbo Men or wherever it is they usually work out, because they are currently sweating it out working out in my trusty apartment fitness room sweating all over my treadmill.

Gross. Tuesday night, I turned around and went back home when I saw a guy on my treadmill watching Seinfield. First of all, who works out to Seinfield? Second of all, the room smelled like smelly sausage. No thanks. Wednesday night a guy was in there on the weights when I got there. Whatever I just minded my own business and hoped on the treadmill. He left after about ten minutes and I switched the tv to a Sex and The City rerun.

After awhile another guy came in and got on the bike right. next. to. me.

Picture this: me and rando guy working out side by side to SATC. And not just any episode. No. A very special fig eating episode (you'll remember if you've seen it).

I died. Literally I turned off the treadmill, handed him the remote, and bolted.

Thursday night I got there, and that guy was in there. No thanks. I did my run outside.

Yes, outside. In the 29 degree weather.

I want to meet up with Amy and get all "tested out" and stuff, but I don't want to be out of shape when I do it. So basically Amy, I ran outside tonight for you!

Change of subject.

We moved BG out of the old faithful duck tub. I kind of have a small case of the sads doing it because she loves that hunk of plastic, but it's time. She needs more room to splash and crawl around.

Mr. Perfect has been fighting me on this transition for days. He says that with the way she flops and thrashes around that she's going to bust her head open.

Very real possibility, but I was willing to give it a try.

Not sure she knew exactly what to think at first, as evidenced by her bolting out.

Once she got some of her super fun letters in there, she was alright with things.

I really can't believe she's in the big tub. Big kids bathe in the big tub. Not little tiny newborn babies.. :(

BG's first birthday is quickly approaching and I am in full on planner mode. Yes, it might be early. But I am a grade A procrastinator and I refuse to let myself wait to the last minute on this one. Fortunately, after a few brainstorming g-chats with Erin, I have a theme and I am on the prowl for some goodies. Can't wait to bounce some ideas off of y'all.

We're trying out a new church in the a.m. I'm really hoping we like it because I miss having a home church big time.

I should go to bed so I'm not an ogre when we get there.

Good idea. Night y'all..

fit train friday.

Okay. So I didn't do as well this week as last week.

Shoot me. I'm tired!

But..

Over last weekend, I did nada. But I ate (semi) well. That counts right?

Monday: nada (eek. I really didn't do well)

Tuesday: Couch to 5k Week 2 Day 1 at ten am. Not fun. I was dripping with sweat.

Wednesday: Shred at 5.30 am. I totally tune out Jillian that early in the morning and turn on Pandora. I may have to look at her, but I cannot deal with listening to her at that hour. I am not a saint.

Thursday: nothing. GAH! But in my defense, BG got up at four and decided it was playtime. By the time I got her back to bed at 5, I was dead on my feet. So I made nice with my pillow til 6.30. I have priorities. They just may keep me flabby.

Friday: Couch to 5k Week 2 Day 2. 5:00 am. I actually ran a little more than I was supposed to this morning because I did something I wasn't supposed to while running. *tee hee. I may be twenty eight, but I can pull off a stunt like a fifteen year old.

Overall; I've been eating healthier and getting in some exercise. Better than I was before. Although, and this could be gross so sorry, my tummy is out of control. Homegirl hurts 96% of the day. I'm blaming the healthy food and vitamins. I think my belly just wants McDonald's. Do you blame it??

After all that, I gained a pound.

Are. You. Kidding. Me.

It's okay. I told myself my fat was becoming heavy muscle.

I also tell myself that my roots are hot. I am a master of only believing what I want to hear.

But in all honesty, I feel better. I feel more toned so.. we shall keep this up.

Week 2 done of Operation Fattypants.

fit train friday.

Ugh.

I have majorly fallen off the fit train.

And in doing so, have managed to put back on 5 lbs.

Gross.

But no more (I know, I know, I've said it before).

See here's the deal. Somehow I've gotten out of sync with mine and BG's schedule. I was getting up every morning at about 5.45 and getting ready for the day before I got her up at 6.30. Well I've been slacking and sleeping late or going back to sleep with her at her first nap and it kills my day. I lose all productivity and I feel like I've slept away the day.

So starting tomorrow (we're celebrating my bday today and I don't diet while celebrating!), I'm getting back up at 5.30 to begin my day. I figure what better day to start than the day I turn 28. Might as well make this new year about getting healthy.

I've also been cooking a lot more which has been better than eating out. But I've also been snacking more. I. Can't. Quit. Eating.

But I can't deal with the way I look, feel, etc. anymore. I feel horrible. I feel lazy and slovenly and greasy. Yes, greasy. It's like food is oozing out of my pores.

So wish me luck. And if you want to keep me accountable by sending me tweet's or comments saying "Hey lazy! How's the pound loss coming?!?", well, that would be fine by me.

Here's to getting hott at 28. Yep. I said it.

Because let's face it. Rolls are only hot when you look like this...

fit train friday.

As a way of keeping myself accountable, I've decided that each Friday I'm going to have to log in to this 'ol blog here and type out what I've managed to accomplish that week on Operations Lard Loss.

Yes. That sounds disgusting. But muffin top sounds cute and what I've got going on is not cute, so let's call a spade a spade here folks.

I pulled out me old running shoes and hit the pavement on Monday.

Apparently something happened to my feet while pregnant because my shoes no longer fit comfortably at all. Add to the fact that they're old and rundown and I felt like I was running barefoot on concrete the entire time. Not fun at all.

I managed to eek out about 30 minutes of off and on running in the 100 degree heat. Not too bad. Not where I was at all, but I can work with it.

However, the next morning I woke up and was pretty sure my shins felt out my legs when I stood up. No bueno.

So I'm going to have to curb the running until I can get some new shoes. And that will have to be when I find a little free time to go and actually find some good running shoes.

I managed to squeeze in the Shred about four times this week. Once I get BG down to bed, I pop in my dvd and do the workout about 9:30. Yes, ridiculously late to workout, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

The Shred is really hard y'all. I swear it's gotten harder while sitting on my shelf for a year!!

I can't quite make it through without stopping yet, but I'll get there. And I didn't do it last night because I was exhausted and BG was exhausted so we curled up together for most of the night.

I've been trying to watch what I eat and just eat smaller portions. I'm also trying to stay away from my newly acquired Mountain Dew habit. Of course I'm back on my two pots of coffee a day habit but at least that's low calorie!!

So after a week of watching what I eat and trying to work out again, I stepped on the scale expecting to see some progress.

I gained 2 pounds. I hate that thing.

Must not give up.... (she says pounding her fist on her head).

I'm not quite comfortable yet with putting my weight out there but I will say this; I'm about 13 pounds above where I was pre-pregnancy. Ideally I'd like to lose about 25 pounds.

Are there any other good workout/workout dvd's y'all recommend? Gym time is just not an option yet. Maybe when they add some hours into the days, but not now. Any suggestions are much appreciated!!

It's time to kick Operation Lard Loss into high gear!!
