Our Independence Day.

I hope you all had a great holiday weekend. I know we sure did. And I lucked out and scored a four day weekend and have loved every single extra minute I've gotten to spend with my girl.

Maybe it's because I'm from a military family, but the Fourth is probably one of my favorite holidays. I love that it's about family, fun, and fireworks, that it's low key and that there's really no pressure. I also love all things patriotic, so that's a huge plus.

We didn't do much on Saturday but celebrate BG's turning 3 months old.

We ended the night with dinner in and a movie for the hubs and I. I can't even remember the last time we watched a movie just the two of us. Much needed..

Sunday morning we got to sleep a little bit later since our church didn't have Sunday School. Somehow even though we didn't have to be there til an hour later, we were still late. I will be late to my own funeral. Calling it now.

We had an African children's choir come perform for us. Absolutely loved it. And I cried. Seriously, I don't know who this hormonal mess I've become is, but she ruins my makeup. They put on such an amazing show. The way they worship is so far from how we usually worship. They just have so much joy and aren't afraid to show it. Kind of makes me wonder why some Christians just can't share Jesus the way those kids do.

Myself included.

After church, we went to eat with the fam and then headed to the grandparents for an afternoon of boating, laying around, and eating.

We got BG dolled up in her little suit for her first boat ride. Which she promptly slept through. Super fun.

Sleeping on the boat...

So apparently this thing was a little big.. She couldn't move her arms hardly at all!

We stopped by a bar-b-que at a family friend's house for a bit, then decided to get BG on home where she went to sleep at eight pm and didn't wake up til six the next morning! Successful day I'd say! Mr. P and I ended the night on our back deck watching our neighborhood's fireworks. It was the perfect ending.

These past two days I've done nothing but hang out with BG. I stay amazed at what she can do now and how big she's getting. I watched her do this a lot...

She's so cool..

I'm headed back to work tomorrow, but hallelujah for a super short week!
